Commissions
Commissions - Process and pricing
Portraits, especially pets, are a pleasure for me to create. For them to be a success there's a step by step process I undertake so you and I are happy with the result! At your initial enquiry we discuss your preferences for style, medium and sizing. If I am working from your reference photos I request them emailed to me so I can determine if they are suitable to work from. I then supply a price.
A 30% deposit is required to secure your order. After providing images to me, we then select the images as references or arrange a photo reference shoot (Brisbane, Qld Australia area only) I often work from multiple photographs, so clear, detailed images are vital. As I progress with your portrait I will keep you updated with emailed progress shots. When the portrait is completed I send a final image for approval.
The final balance is due then and I proceed to arrange delivery of your new artwork.
Contact me to discuss your portrait needs either by email, facebook private message or mobile call.
For specialised commissions of surrealist animal works please contact me via email or mobile to discuss.

Oil Painting
The portrait paintings I create are rich in colour, detailed and composed in a contemporary style. I use traditional oil painting methods, starting with a tonal (one colour) underpainting and progressing with layers of colour and richness.
Each portrait is painted on triple-primed stretched professional grade canvas, using professional grade oil paint. They usually have 3.5cm deep canvas sides so framing is unnecessary. Or they can be created on a thinner sided canvas that will require framing.
If you are emailing or posting reference photos for e to work from they need to be clear and sharp, preferably with no flash photography. The subjects shouldn't be too small or in the distance of the photo.
Payment is by direct deposit or cash within Australia.
Delivery fees vary with location, the amount will be provided in your quote.

Charcoal Drawing
Charcoal drawings are created using techniques I have developed over the years. The composition and tonal range used is based on the photograph chosen and created in a contemporary style, usually with a simple plain background to emphasize the subject. All drawings are completed on high quality, acid free heavy professional grade paper. On completion they are spraying with a drawing fixative to protect the delicate layers from smudging. They are secured to a backing board and protective sheet for safe transport to you, and are ready to frame.

Testimonials
“What a beautiful tribute to our wonderful dog, Remy. Robbie’s portrait really captured his distinguished demeanour and handsome face. While we miss him everyday, his portrait in our family room is a special reminder of many happy memories. Robbie has a wonderful ability to capture the unique nature of a beloved pet and they live on in her portraits.” Shelly
“Thank you so much for our latest paintings, Robbie. You managed to capture Raffey and Cruiser’s personalities perfectly in the painting. They look so cute! In the portrait of Mum, Molly and I you have really captured our likeness. Very special to have our own portrait. I really love it. Thank you very much, Robbie.” Susie
“Thankyou very much for the painting of Jasper as well as the painting of his horse. The profile of Jasper looks exactly like him! So good you could capture his likeness from a photo. The colours in the horse painting are beautiful and I love sitting at my kitchen table looking at it. Perfect Christmas presents. Thankyou.” Adam
